My steps are not counting

Stride reads your steps from Health Connect, which most Android phones have or can install free from Play. Open Stride and look at the board: if it says something is missing, the button on that message sets it up.

Check that Health Connect is installed, that Stride is allowed to read Steps in it, and that you allowed "physical activity" when the app asked. Your phone also has to have recorded the steps in the first place — if you left it on a desk, there is nothing for Stride to read.

My count is lower than my phone's

That is Stride working. When you are in a vehicle, the steps a rough road adds are subtracted before anything is sent, because a leaderboard that counts potholes is one nobody believes. The step check screen shows exactly what was recorded, what was taken off and why.

I was not sent an invite

Groups are set up for organisations, and you join one with a link or an eight-character code from somebody at work. Ask whoever runs your group for it. If you have the link, open it on your phone and tap "Open in Stride".

I want off the board

Open the group's settings and leave it. You come off that board straight away, and your own history stays with you. To remove everything, close your account — in the app under You → Close my account, or at /delete-account.

What my employer can see

Your name, your picture, your step counts, your streak and your place in the ranking — the same things every other member of the group sees. Nothing about your health beyond the number of steps, no location, and no report that shows more. The privacy policy sets it out in full.
